Just Oil’s Cold Pressed Extra Virgin Rapeseed Oil is produced by gently squeezing the seed to release the oil, without the addition of any chemicals or additives. The Just Oil range is produced by the Froggatt Family on their farm in the heart of Staffordshire. Having been farming throughout four generations, the family seized the opportunity to produce quality oil from their crops, and thus began the launch of a culinary cold-pressed rapeseed oil, soon to be followed by salad dressings, infused oils, vinegars and dipping oils.
Now recieving superb publicity from top chefs and nutritionists, cold-pressed rapeseed oil is quickly becoming the preferred alternative to olive for many food-lovers and the health conscious alike.
The bottom line is, rapeseed oil is healthier, being lower in saturated fat, higher in vitamin E (just a tablespoon provides a fifth of our daily need for this powerful antioxidant), and without all the polyphenols that extra-virgin olive oil contains. It’s also high in Omega 3, gluten free and suitable for both vegetarians and vegans, as well as Kosher and Halal diets.
Unlike olive oil and other competitors, rapeseed oil is safe to cook at high temperatures, with a smoke point of up to 230c. Better yet, the delicate flavours of rapeseed oil also means that the flavours do not bleed out during the cooking process, resulting in flawless and tasty dishes.
Despite the benefits when it comes to cooking, rapeseed oil can also be consumed in its cold, natural form with thanks to its delicate and nutty taste. It serves as the perfect choice to use as a dressing or dip.
